Anticancer activity of silver Nanoparticles Synthesized from Cynodon dactylon leaf extract.

Abstract

Anticancer activity of the biologically synthesized silver nanoparticles was studied using HEpG-2 cell line. The AgNPs showed dose – dependent Cytotoxicity against HEpG-2 cells. Anticancer activity of the green synthesized sliver nanoparticles proves the potential of silver nanoparticles in the area of Nano medicine.

Synthesis of Silver nano particles using different medicinal plant extracts and its characterization.

Abstract

      The environmentally nontoxic, ecofriendly and cost-effective method that has been developed for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles using plant extracts creates the major research interest in the field of nanotechnology. The synthesized silver nanoparticles have been characterized by the UV-VIS spectroscopy, X-ray Diffraction, Atomic force microscopy. Silver nanoparticles exhibit a broad spectrum of anti-bactericidal and anti-fungicidal activities making them extremely popular in a diverse range of consumer products including plastics, soaps, pastes, food and textiles thus increasing their market value. The presence of soluble organics in the plant extracts was mainly responsible for the silver ions reduction to Nano-sized silver particles. Thus it provides information on silver nanoparticles synthesis from various medicinal plants, various methods of characterization and its biological application.

PRESENT AND PREVIOUS ARCHAELOGICAL EXPLORATIONS IN VILLUPURAM DISTRICT – A STUDY

Abstract

The Archaeological significance of the Villupuram District was identified through surface surveys and salvage exploration, which lead researchers to put forward the hypothesis, that Villupuram District would have been the ancient port and anterior to the Indus Civilization.  This Archaeological research revealed many Paleolithic and several megalithic sites in the District in order to understand the geological, cultural contexts of the sites and artifacts.  The early Tamil epigraphs written in a script on rock were found in Jambai, Edakal, Meltupathi and Alagaramalai.  Ancient urns were unearthed from various villages like Thiruvakkarai, Andali, Arumbrampattu etc.

This paper discussed the great phenomenon of present and previous archaeological explorations in Villupuram District.  We can understand the antiquity of Tamil Nadu both in time and space and to study the political, social and economic development of the Tamil Nadu during these primarily archaeological and epigraphically sources.

Quantitative Analysis of Casein Precipitation from the Various Milk Samples

Abstract

Milk is a multi-nutrient fluid and it is the primary source of nutrition for human. It consists of 80 % of proteins. The protein in the milk is classified into casein and whey protein. Milk protein consists of 80% of casein and 20% whey protein. The function of casein is to provide energy to human body. The name of casein is related to the family of phosphorproteins(1). These proteins are commonly found in the mammalian milk. This study deals with the precipitation of casein from the various milk samples such as cow milk, goat milk, buffalo milk and also the samples that availed from the market. The technique of precipitation of casein is used to predict the protein content in the milk samples.

Stimulate effects of Ground nut haulm compost, farm yard manures and bio fertilizers on growth of Ground nut (Arachis hypogaea L.)

Abstract
Ground nut is an important food legumes and oilseed crop in the world. The present research work deals with the effect of Stimulate effects of ground nut haulm compost, bio fertilizers and farm yard manures on growth of ground nut (Arachis hypogaea l.).the field experiment was conducted in the randomized block design with similar environmental condition. The treatment such as T1-control, T2 -1 tonne ha-1 haulm compost only,T3-1 tonnes ha-1 haulm compost + fym,T4-1 tonne ha-1 haulm compost + rhizobium,T5-1 tonnes ha-1 haulm compost + phosphobacteria and T6 – T2+ T3+ T4+ T5 alone. Field experimental season such as experimental period-January 2014 to May 2015, variety- vri 3,experimental design viz., split plot design and the plot size:2.5  2.5 m2. The treatments were allowed in ground nut haulm compost bio fertilizers viz., FYM, Rhizobium, phosphobacteria were treated in similar environmental conditions. The sampling period such as 20, 40 and 60 das respectively. The morphological parameter viz., root length, shoot length, leaf length, leaf area, leaf width, plant height, fresh weight, and dry weight, were measured. The bio chemicals such as total chlorophyll, carbohydrates, and protein contents were measured in various sampling days. The highest growth was measured in treatment six when compared with control.

INFLUENCE OF BIOFERTILIZER, INORGANIC FERTILIZERS AND ORGANIC FERTILIZERS ON GROWTH OF BLACK GRAM (VIGNA MUNGO L.)

ABSTRACT
Biofertilizers are natural and organic products. They help to provide and keep the soil with all the minerals and microorganisms required for plant growth. Their application is easy, cost effective and does not cause any pollution problem. In India, biofertilizers constitute the best renewable source of nutrient supply to plants and as supplement to chemical fertilizers and organic manures. The comparative effects on FYM, Inorganic fertilizers and Biofertilizers on growth ofblack gram (Vigna mungo L.) were studied.The thirteen treatements were studied under this experiments. The highest growth was recorded in combined application of biofertilizers alone. The inorganic fertilizers and organic manures are gradually increased in growth, and biochemical contents.Hence the use of biofertilizers should be encouraged.

Performance and Emission Characteristics of CI Engine fuelled with Pungamia Methyl Ester and it’s Blend with Diesel

Abstract
Unbalanced supply and cost escalation of petroleum fuels is a menace for diminution of renewable source of energy. The look for of alternate fuel for compression ignition engine has supposed great significance. Use of renewable biomass based fuel appears to be viable alternate with the commercial liquid fuel, predominantly for farm use. Amongst various fossil fuels for diesel, vegetable oil is a promising one based on the comparable fuel properties to that of diesel. Basically, internal combustion engines are designed to operate under conventional fossil fuel. However, the use of alternative fuel in existing engine needs modification but biodiesel can be used without any engine modification. Investigations were carried out to analyse the fuel properties of the biodiesel – Pongamia methyl ester as blend with diesel fuel from 20 to 80% by volume by running a diesel engine. Engine tests were carried out to evaluate brake thermal efficiency, brake specific fuel consumption and CO, CO2, HC, NOx emissions and smoke intensity. The outcome of the study reveals that the reduction in exhaust emissions together with increase in brake thermal efficiency and reduction in brake specific fuel consumption make the biodiesel a suitable alternative fuel for diesel fuel and environmentally benevolent.

The aim of this study was to detect cardiovascular changes echocardiographically in female patients with untreated dysfunctional thyroid states namely Overt hypothyroidism and sub-clinical hypothyroidism. Interestingly these patients were also found to have abnormal lipid metabolism which is a risk for accelerated atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease. Early recognition and thyroxine replacement along with lipid lowering drugs might reverse these cardiovascular changes which needs further study in these patients
