Anticancer activity of silver Nanoparticles Synthesized from Cynodon dactylon leaf extract.

Abstract

Anticancer activity of the biologically synthesized silver nanoparticles was studied using HEpG-2 cell line. The AgNPs showed dose – dependent Cytotoxicity against HEpG-2 cells. Anticancer activity of the green synthesized sliver nanoparticles proves the potential of silver nanoparticles in the area of Nano medicine.

Synthesis of Silver nano particles using different medicinal plant extracts and its characterization.

Abstract

      The environmentally nontoxic, ecofriendly and cost-effective method that has been developed for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles using plant extracts creates the major research interest in the field of nanotechnology. The synthesized silver nanoparticles have been characterized by the UV-VIS spectroscopy, X-ray Diffraction, Atomic force microscopy. Silver nanoparticles exhibit a broad spectrum of anti-bactericidal and anti-fungicidal activities making them extremely popular in a diverse range of consumer products including plastics, soaps, pastes, food and textiles thus increasing their market value. The presence of soluble organics in the plant extracts was mainly responsible for the silver ions reduction to Nano-sized silver particles. Thus it provides information on silver nanoparticles synthesis from various medicinal plants, various methods of characterization and its biological application.

PRESENT AND PREVIOUS ARCHAELOGICAL EXPLORATIONS IN VILLUPURAM DISTRICT – A STUDY

Abstract

The Archaeological significance of the Villupuram District was identified through surface surveys and salvage exploration, which lead researchers to put forward the hypothesis, that Villupuram District would have been the ancient port and anterior to the Indus Civilization.  This Archaeological research revealed many Paleolithic and several megalithic sites in the District in order to understand the geological, cultural contexts of the sites and artifacts.  The early Tamil epigraphs written in a script on rock were found in Jambai, Edakal, Meltupathi and Alagaramalai.  Ancient urns were unearthed from various villages like Thiruvakkarai, Andali, Arumbrampattu etc.

This paper discussed the great phenomenon of present and previous archaeological explorations in Villupuram District.  We can understand the antiquity of Tamil Nadu both in time and space and to study the political, social and economic development of the Tamil Nadu during these primarily archaeological and epigraphically sources.

Quantitative Analysis of Casein Precipitation from the Various Milk Samples

Abstract

Milk is a multi-nutrient fluid and it is the primary source of nutrition for human. It consists of 80 % of proteins. The protein in the milk is classified into casein and whey protein. Milk protein consists of 80% of casein and 20% whey protein. The function of casein is to provide energy to human body. The name of casein is related to the family of phosphorproteins(1). These proteins are commonly found in the mammalian milk. This study deals with the precipitation of casein from the various milk samples such as cow milk, goat milk, buffalo milk and also the samples that availed from the market. The technique of precipitation of casein is used to predict the protein content in the milk samples.
